Ennio Morricone’s groundbreaking scores for Sergio Leone’s “Spaghetti” westerns are some of my all time favorite pieces of music, and I’ve always felt that “Out of the Frying Pan” had a lot of elements that lent themselves to that style, so it was a natural fit. As a trumpet player, a commanding trumpet solo was essential, and getting the chance to feature the stunning mezzo-soprano of my good friend Annie Rosen was the icing on the cake.
