Dear to the Heart is a versatile piece of music that hits several different emotional notes. I wanted my arrangement to work as a standalone piece – one that was more dynamic than the original and could tell a story without a visual. The track starts with an ethereal ambience, and gradually works its way up to a cinematic finish. Dear to the Heart has always been one of my favorites, particularly for the way it weaves in the main theme of FFVII. I chose to remix it because it captures so many of the sentiments that I associate with the game.
